HISTORY OF INTERIOR DESIGN | PROF. MARY KERDASHA | SOFTWARES USED: REVIT, SKETCHUP WAREHOUSE, ENSCAPE
This 350 sq. ft. sitting room project reinterprets the historical boudoir through a contemporary lens, blending neoclassical elegance with modern softness. Inspired by Elsie de Wolfe’s design philosophy, the space prioritizes comfort, lightness, and personal expression. With subtle panel molding, high ceilings, a graceful chandelier, and a serene color palette of ivory, dusty rose, pale sage, and antique gold, the room exudes calm and sophistication. Central to the design is a conversational seating arrangement anchored by a round rug, alongside a vanity and chaise that nod to feminine rituals and rest. This project highlights the boudoir as a retreat for both beauty and connection — “a room of one’s own” that feels curated, intimate, and timeless.
