HISTORY OF INTERIOR DESIGN | PROF. MARY KERDASHA | SOFTWARES USED: CANVA
This project reinterprets the elegance and harmony of the Italian Renaissance (15th–17th century) through a contemporary lens. Designed as a feminine private retreat, the interior balances classical symmetry, intellectual refinement, and artisanal detail with modern comfort. At its heart is a 17th-century Italian cassone (marriage chest), anchoring the space with historical authenticity and symbolic richness. Featuring a boudoir, a bedroom, and seating area, the retreat combines period-inspired furniture, scenic wall treatments, and sculptural lighting to create a timeless and empowering sanctuary.
